How to Be Famous on a Cruise Ship

Alternate Post Title: Pat's B-day Cruise, Part I

I had these super-fancy "I Heart Pat" shirts made up for Pat's B-day cruise. We wore the shirts on the drive to LA and for our first day on the boat. Travel Troupe (plus four) hearts Pat!

"I Heart Pat" is definitely the way to go if you want to be famous on a cruise ship. From the time we arrived at the boat terminal through dinner and post-dinner activities, the question on everyone's lips was "Who is Pat?!" We were stopped every few feet for explanations on the shirts. I thought it was pretty evident from Pat's shirt that he was, in fact, Pat, but explanations were still required for most people. Regardless, Pat was an instant star! Everyone wanted to meet Pat. Pat! Pat! Pronounced by many of the crew as Pot! Pot! Everyone knew Pat/Pot. For the duration of the trip, he was famous. People in line asking about the shirts:The girls heart Pat!
The boys heart Pat!
Pat's parents heart Pat!
The team that won the very first trivia contest of the cruise hearts Pat. Um...well....we are actually hearting the travel organizers that we won (Woo Hoo! Travel Troupe wins!!), but we heart Pat, too.
